Weed status of the Isisford Shire as of 1st June 2005.
This page has 4 parts: Isisford Shire is relatively clean of weeds and has the potential to eradicate most of the remaining species. The Barcoo River runs through the middle if the shire and is the main vector for weed dispersal. Parthenium has been found along roadsides and an infestation scattered across 20 acres was found a few years ago. The infestation has been brought under control through diligent efforts by the landholder. The seed was transported in feed. Parkinsonia exists within the shire in several small infestations. Mesquite is found in only a couple of areas in very small infestations. Prickly acacia is found on only a couple of properties. One of these infestations is very serious and is probably one of the highest priority infestations in western Queensland. The following is a list of known weeds in the shire and their classification.
