Weed status of the Ilfracombe Shire as of 1st June 2005.
This page has 4 parts: The shire is aiming to totally eradicate Prickly acacia, parkinsonia, mesquite, coral cactus, Noogoora Burr, and Bathurst Burr. An isolated parthenium patch was found at Tylden Creekk Road by the council grader driver. This infestation has been controlled and is now regularly monitored for seedlings after rain. Rubber vine was found in Gin Ck and was subsequently controlled. This area is regularly monitored and seedlings sprayed if found. There have been no plants found here for two years. Ilfracombe Landcare group is very active undertaking weed control days in various properties throughout the shire. The following species have been identified as high priority under the Ilfracombe Shire Pest Management Plan - Parthenium weed, Prickly acacia, Parkinsonia, Mesquite.
