Weed status of the Boulia Shire as of 1st June 2005.
This page has 4 parts: Parkinsonia is present along the Burke River and Moonah Creek system and scattered in some other areas, and can be brought under control. Mesquite is mainly found around the Urandangi area and north of this town up the Georgina is thick in parts. Under the shires pest management plan this plant will be eradicated. Prickly acacia is also targeted for eradication from the shire and is only found in a few small isolated infestations. These are the only infestations in the Georgina Catchment. There is no verified rubber vine or parthenium infestations present in the shire. There is one patch of Chinee Apple, which is to be controlled and eradicated. Giant Rats Tail Grass is not present in the shire nor ever found in the shire. The following is a list of known weeds in the shire and their classification.
