This page has 4 parts: Blackall Shire’s worst weed threats are parthenium, parkinsonia, and mother of millions. Parthenium exists on several properties in the south of the shire in the Upper Bulloo catchment as well as existing on a couple of other properties throughout the shire in very small infestations. Parkinsonia is limited to only a handful of properties in the shire. These infestations can be controlled. Mother of Millions is spread throughout Ravensbourne Creek and exists in a couple of other infestations close to the township. There is also some in the east of the shire in the Desert Uplands. These infestations are difficult to control, but recently there have been some good control successes. Prickly acacia is limited to only a small infestation on one property, but plants are regularly found along the highway dissecting the shire. Mesquite is sometimes found around houses and stockyards but there are not any known infestations. The following is a list of known weeds in the shire and their classification.
