HOW IT WORKS
The Lake Eyre Basin Coordinating Group brings together a diverse range of people. People with different backgrounds, outlooks, interests and opinions, united by a common desire to sustainably manage the natural resources of the Lake Eyre Basin. These are people living in the Basin or others who are simply interested in an enduring ecological, economic and cultural future for it and its communities. The Coordinating Group is bringing these people together, across state borders and in partnership with communities, industry and all levels of government, to work toward this sustainable future. This is done with full recognition and respect for different groups, interests and opinions.
LEBCG Meeting at Birdsville

Membership of the Coordinating Group is based around elected or appointed community members from the individual catchment committees or regions. They are supported by invited skills-based members and special interest group representatives who bring additional expertise to the process. The Group meets under the guidance of an appointed, independent Chair and a Chief Executive. The Chair also widely promotes the process, the Group, and its work, while the Chief Executive manages the administration and day to day running of the organisation.
